June 21, 2017 12:13 pm Comments Off on Free Parenting ClassDivorcing parents in Florida must attend (live or on-line) a 4-hour Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course before their final hearing in court. You can now meet this requirement for FREE!! Florida State University’s College of Education, the College of Communication and Information, and the Institute for Family Violence Studies within FSU’s College of Social Work have created an on-line, interactive, multi-media course that will teach you about the effects of divorce and help you build a healthy co-parenting relationship for the benefit of your children. There are three modules: “An Introduction to Divorce and Co-Parenting”; “Skills and Strategies for Co-Parenting”; and “Self-care, Transitions, and Safety”. Take a look at https://coparenting.fsu.edu/ And, remember to print out your certificate at the end of the course. (Please note that some Florida Circuit Courts only accept certain providers or require that the class be taken in person. Please consult Family Court Services in your Circuit to find out what classes they accept. As of March 10, 2022, this FSU class is included on the State approved list of online courses at https://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/child-welfare/stabilization/ )
